The problem

An agency with many websites repeats the same operations. It publishes a website. It corrects an urgent problem. It goes back to the previous version. It shows a message during maintenance. It gives the website back when a client leaves. Manual operations put a client website at risk on a Friday evening.

The reasoning

We made publication a production line, not an event. The client receives exactly what we approved before. No step between the approval and the client can change the result. We also planned the exit at the start. A client who leaves takes the website.

The effect

The line puts the approved result on the website, and nothing else. A return to the previous version takes minutes, and it does not need a new build. The exit is part of the product, not a negotiation.
